Mary Etta Ward, age 108, of Springfield, Ohio died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 1:15 p.m. at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield where she had been residing since 2004.
She was born August 7,1904 in Fayette County to Billy and Jenny Friece Cook. She lived most of her life in Bloomingburg and Washington C.H.
Mrs. Ward was formerly a member of the Yatesville WCTU.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Delbert Ward on May 3, 1957; a brother, William Evan (Bud) Cook; four sisters, Grace Hulett, Essie Shultz, Kathryn Dixon and Cecil Dawson and a son-in law, David Roe.
Mrs. Ward is survived by a daughter, Helen Louise Roe of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington C.H. one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
